I have seen "light" scoring of that valve in engines that didn't have any balance shaft issues too. It takes very little debris (from a dirty funnel at an oil change) to make a scratch.
It's impossible for me to say if the scoring in your valve is severe enough to be of concern or not.
As I mentioned in earlier posts, it is a combinations of factors that makes me decide if I have a problem or not like, engine noise/vibrations, metal debris in the oil filter, badly scored oil pressure valve and subsequently a scratched oil pump/engine cover.
