Interesting, so my symptoms might have actually been related to heat, not cold. Opening the hood and fiddling with connectors on various sensors sometimes resulted in getting started, but that could be due to allowing heat to escape or jarring the CPS when the hood was closed.
My dealer did find some codes, but that was after the problem got so bad that a CEL apeared once. They kept it for a day just to be sure the new CPS fixed it, and thankfully, it did.
