but more evident during the summer. Since I am not Anders, here's my $0.02 on this subject matter. In my case, have noticed this recent summer that the engine is cranking but not turning. Took about 20 cranks before it fired up and that is after running the car and letting it sit for 30 or 45 minutes then hard start problem. Had spent $$ to have the car checked out: starter and battery were replaced. But it was still doing it. So, took the old-fashioned approach - press gas pedal lightly as you start the engine and let it vrrooom. May take you two or three starts but that should do it. Also, did you clean IAC? Do a search using key words: derek in durham, michael_p, v6vert, CPS, CKP, iveand, and v6 hot start. The hard starts you are experiencing could be related to fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, dirty iac, or the crank position sensor going bad since the heat is affecting it. Do you have the factory gas gap or not?
And, have you all done the basic cleaning?
