I have the same "Navigator" cell phone cradle.
While I have an automatic, I have had similar problems when I shift into Park. Tilting the unit so that the phone antenna points to one o'clock seems to have fixed the problem without compromising the usability. This might not work for a 5-speed.
SAAB does sell spacers for the lighter socket. They go for about $3.00 for two. Get them at your dealer, or order from the accessory catalogue. I had to use them with my older SAAB. The 2000 9-3 lighter seems to fit the Navigator well.
I don't think that $300+ for the hard wired system is worth the money, esprecially in a leased vehicle. What happens when Nokia decides to replace the 5100/6100 series?
Good Luck,
