Are you having trouble upshifting, or downshifting/double clutching? For double clutching, give it a good blip of gas when you're in neutral (to paraphrase the Talking Heads, "You must blip it. Blip it good.") As the rpms fall, shift into the lower gear.
Heel and toe shifting is double clutching while braking. The term doesn't describe what's going on, though. Putting your right foot all the way to the right helps get good foot-pedal alignment. What you do is:
1. Brake, using the big toe side of your foot
2. Shift into neutral (releasing the clutch, too)
3. Roll your foot to the right, onto the accelerator to give a blip of gas (while braking with your big toe)
4. As the rpms fall back down, engage the clutch again, and shift into the lower gear.
I'm still working on getting my double clutching smooth. Heel and toe work doesn't seem that much more difficult, *if* I don't brake too hard.
