I agree with much of what you are saying. However, from what I recall, Saab sales are better now than they have ever been. In terms of sales, GM has done well for SAAB, and have kept them in business. In terms of the cars themselves, that is where we may lose the SAABiness of SAABs that we all know and love. However, I wouldn't be too concerned yet. The updated 9-5 looks great (in my opinion), and nobody knows what the 9-3 will look like till they tell us for sure. You never know, you may like it even more than the old one, and sales may go up more, keeping SAAB around longer for us to buy their cars. It would have done little good to us if SAAB stayed the way they were, but went out of business. We would all be driving the old generation 900, and the old model 9000's to date, and SAAB would be just another enthusiast car.
For myself, I hope GM is able to break SAAB into the mainstream without losing to much of the orininal character. I hope to be able to buy SAABS for the next decade...which didnt' look so promising 10 years ago.
