You might want to try out a drain valve make by Fumoto. Once replaced the regular drain plug, you will NEVER have to remove it to release the oil. I have it on my car (non-saab) for almost 4 years now, and I never have any problem with it. The drawn back is it is not cheap (about $20) but it does save you alot of work and you don't have to worry about getting your hand out fast to avoid hot engine oil. There web site is:

One last thing, if you take your car to a shop for oil change, you WILL have to explain to them how this lever work .. it is fun sometime to see the "gee wiz .." expression on the guys face :-))
David
P.S. I don't have any relationship with this company, just a happy customer.
