They are both very different but very great cars. The Audi is a well built machine but I have been told some people are dissapointed with the 1.8T and the new styling for '02.
The salesmen has a point about the resale of the 9-5 vs. the Audi. For some reason, although the 9-5 is an excellent car, they have not held their value like it seems they should.
The AWD of the Audi is great, they are not new to the game. However, I think a 9-5 with snow tires would be very good considering the 9-5 Trac. control sys. I think unless you are in extreme conditions, the 9-5 would suit you well in the winter. Besides, we were looking at an A-6, they all came with sport tires, which meant we would have had to buy winter tires for that car anyway.
They are both appealing in different ways I guess. I love both Saab and Audi cars so I am not going to be very objective. I would say off hand that repairs are going to be more on the Audi than the Saab, but it really depends on how good of a dealer you have.
Best Regards,
Tyler
