I'm in a similar situation. I own a 2001 Audi S4, and a 9-3 convertible.
If you're going HIGH end, the S4 is better than the high end 9-3 (viggen.)
But the base 1.8T A4 is no match for the base 9-3, and the 3.0 A4 is a
worse deal than the 9-5 at those price ranges. Saab is a great winter car
but not quite as good as AWD quattro.
Audi is better at: fit and finish, interior design, quattro
Saab is better at: reliability, easy maintenance, comfortable and FAR
superior seats, IMO
