I have a 1999 9-3 base on lease and was considering purchasing it at the end of the lease (my third SAAB.) However, I have had maintenance and warranty service for the following:

Bad UV joint (8,000 miles)
Broken door handles (11,000 miles and 13,000 miles)
Heater controls replaced, known problem (13,000 miles)
Water pump (26,000 miles)
Rattles (many attempts to fix at oil services)
Front brakes, wear item, but seems very quick, dealer states I need new pads and NEW, NOT RESURFACED rotors (27,000 miles)
Upcoming 30k service (Per dealer, about $500, YIKES!! Typical for service on the 30's it appears)

With this many warranty problems at around 30k, and very expensive maintenance (SAAB maintenance seems to have gotten into the MB/BMW price range, at least in my area) I am hestitate to continue leasing or purchasing SAABS excepting that most current models get scheduled service for 3 yrs, which is my lease term. On a purchase, maintenance is on me and extended warranties for SAAB's are $$$$$.

Any thoughts on leasing or purchasing SAAB's and/or if my experience is different from the norm?
