We had 101 octane unleaded at the pump around the corner from the dealership (for a very reasonable price, I might add). I always ran it in my Viggen, hoewever now that I've moved to Memphis I'm not so lucky. I've yet to find any high octane fuel sources. I'm sure that if I do find one, it will be outrageously priced.
To your fuel question. The car will run on all three levels of octane, however that engine maneagement will compensate for the lower octane fuels. It won't achieve nearly as good of performance as it would on the higher octane fuels, because it can sense any pre-detonation. It will limit boost and retard the timing slightly to prevent damage to the engine.
Cheers,
Brian.
