Oil can drain from the oil filter mount for a long time! I would draint the sump, then replace the plug, then remove the filter and leave that for 1/2 hour, then go back to the sump.
I would not use a flushing oil. I you have been using dyno oil, with your modest miles, get a can of Winn's or some other product that yoiu add to oil to free sticking rings and valves. Run with that a week before you do your oil change. That will remove the bulk of any deposits.
There are also 1 quart solvent flushes that you add to the oil, warm up the engine then drain. You cannot put a load on the engine with these. So if you add before you get on the ramps, you can't used them. These allow the oil to drain and flow from the engine very freely.
