Just kidding;-) cast alloy can be welded. The machine is called a TIG
(tungsten inert gas) welder. Because of the excellent heat disapating properties of this alloy it takes this special machine with a hotter arc. An amature can easily melt holes in your pan so have it done professionaly if you go for this option. Good Luck. Too bad the target wasn't facing you so you could have had more of a chance to avoid! Like everyone else, I wouldn't mess with someone that angers that easily. I've been to Small Claims, the agrivation factor alone is just not worth it.
