As a prospective 2003 9-3 Sport Sedan owner, I'd like to know if this car (Linear, Arc, or Vector) takes regular 87 octane unleaded or 91 octane premium unleaded. The Saab brochures doesn't mention this and when I asked the salesman at the dealer, he wasn't totally sure. I have read several magazine articles that say it takes "costly premium fuel" and said that was a con for buying the car (but we all know they are clueless), but according to fueleconomy.org, it only takes unleaded regular. So it seems that nobody, except for those that actually own the car really know for sure. If it does in fact take 87 octane unleaded, isn't that a little unusual for a turbocharged engine?

With the looming war in Iraq, I expect the cost of gas to rise considerably and it would save me a lot to use the cheap gas considering the mileage I drive each day. Thanks.
