It's a myth that premium gas provides better gas milage, if it did, the gas companies would be harping about it. The ONLY effiency gain that can come from premium fuel is that your car can run more advanced ignition setting as full power....at part throttle, it make zero difference. If you don't believe me try testing it with the SID. I've managed to get the miles to empty to over 1000 km using reguler and have averaged 40 mpg at on the highway in certain circumstances. All using regular.
