Higher Octane == Better Performance, IMHO

With my 185HP '98 900SET I was disappointed with performance in the summer when A/C is required in the southeastern USA. I had been using medium octane and moved up to premium. This got rid of the additional lag I was feeling from the engine when the A/C compressor was running, and I've never switched back. The price difference between 89 and 91 would have to get much larger for me to go back to medium grade with the Viggen I have now. Basically I think the higher octane makes the car more enjoyable, and so I find it (for now anyway) to still be worth it.
Your results will probably be similiar, but since it's a brand new model, perhaps the difference in performance will be less noticable.
