Hi,
I e-mailed debra kelly-ennis regarding parts sharing and the cancellation of the 9-3X. Here is what she had to say:
Thank your for your input and the concern over the direction of the Saab brand.
I will remind you not to believe everything you hear or read in the press. A
model like the 9-3X (which was a concept car showing the potential direction the
company could take) is still under consideration as part of our portfolio, along
with many other alternatives. However, as with any vehicle development program,
nothing is certain until the product rolls off the end of the assembly line. We
are optimistic that we can bring a number of new products to the market over the
next three years.
As for your comment on parts sharing extending to engines and drivetrains I hope
you understand that I cannot comment on specifics. All manufacturers must figure
out how to reduce their cost structure and improve profitability without
destroying the brand and alienating loyal customers like yourself. We struggle
with this everyday. I can assure you that we understand what makes up a REAL
Saab and will work hard to maintain your faith with our future products.
Regards,
Debra Kelly-Ennis
