As long as they are GOOD parts, heck the Aston Martin Vanquish V12 is basicly 2 Ford duratec V12 blocs laser welded together with a new crank. (of course this is an over simplification). VW is the MASTER at platform sharing so far, with Honda and Toyota tied for second. If you can really do as good a job as VW has done, heck, who cares if parts are shared, as long as the parts are of good quality and the end product is not just a rebadging job. I think Saab has done a great job with the new 9-3. The damn thing is based on a Saturn L 4godsake!!! Even the NG 9-3 was a decent platform sharing exercise. Like I said I hope they god to the Subaru parts bin and go crazy!! There is some great technology in the GM empire, but some serious integration and vision issues. You can take a wonderful parts and build a POS.
