I took it upon myself to install a 4-channel amp where the accessory amp mounts and 12 gauge wire to an aftermarket speaker system with my own custom-made baffles of solid countertop material. All this hooked up with a 4-gauge amp kit. I'm slowly becoming a contortionist!
I bought Eric's old DIN-to-RCA conversion cable so the low impedence is covered front and rear. I'm running Infinity reference 605cs (just can't afford the Kappa's)in the doors with the tweeters mounted in the interior mirror mount trim. I haven't decided about the rears yet. I have a great pair of Seas 6.5's and Boston tweeters for the rear which would require another baffle (I'm getting pretty good with the Roto-Zip and the Dremel!) and I also have a pair of Pyramid 6x9's with horn-loaded mids and tweeters that, believe it or not, sound really good with the right amount of power.
It'll be a work-in-progress for a short while but should be fun once it's dailed in.
