I agree so for GM has done a good job keeping Saab from going out of business with a minimum of disruption, but Saab is still losing thousands of dollars per car, and that probably is going to bring about more homogenization with the rest of GM's lineup.

OTOH, while Ford has "saved" Jaguar, the car now looks like a Buick from the back, and any standard GM lux car on the inside. This to me is not so much saving a classic brand, but transforming it into a new product that appeals to a different demographic, and trading on the name. To me, if GM does that with Saab, the name may survive, but the classic company may not. Luckily, that has not happened, yet.
