Hi,
I've been lurking here for the last few weeks, trying to do my research on Saabs, 9-3's in particular. I'm currently not a Saab owner, but i'd like to be one. I've been looking at used 9-3's, 1999-2000. I test drove a 1999 9-3 last week and i really liked it. Solid euro ride, good power, low miles. But, as I was searching the board this week and some concerns came up. I started to search for any problems problems 9-3 owners may have experienced. I've found a few posts on blown direct ignition cassettes, steering racks that need to be replaced, ever present rattles, and engines stalling for no apparent reason. It seems there's a pattern of these problems with 9-3's. Should I be concerned? The currently have a 95 toyota camry w/160K miles and have not had any significant problems. I would like to get a car that is just as reliable as my toyota, but with a little bit more spirit. I'd also like to drive a car that's not like every other one out there.
camry=boring, but reliable
Saab 9-3= (please fill in the blank)
Thanks for your help
Ivan
