Don't measure spark plug gap with a ruler - plug gapping gauges are really cheap at AutoZoned or places like that. A set of wires of different sizes, you find the biggest one that fits thru the gap.
you asked:
If the car studders badly, the dealer won't fix it under warranty?
I hope they would fix it, if they can figure out why. I think Dean meant the dealer won't bother to adjust your spark plug gap. They'll put in new plugs. Adjusting gap is easy for home-garage mechanics, but at dealer labor rates it doesn't always make sense. If you get plugs from an autoparts store they might be $2 each for BCP6ES, or maybe $10 each for PFR6H. For that money I'd replace all 4. It's important for them all to be the same.
TB = throttle body.
IAC = idle air control valve
I think your T-7 engine doesn't have an IAC. (You said '02?)
TB can be removed from the car and cleaned out with TB cleaner. Or at least you can remove the air intake tube & inspect the TB. I imagine it would take more than a year for it to get very dirty. But I can't see it from here...
