Chan, Hey how's it going? BUMMER about the Saab being hit. I agree with the others, the insurance company will probably drop you. A friend of mine at work, her 18 yr old son had 2 accidents in a year & her husband got hit as well (none of them the fault of her son or husband) yet her insurance company still dropped her, and her sons insurance is now $3,000/yr. That's insane.
Also, about the repairs, sometimes its cheaper to just fix it yourself and not submit a claim to the insurance company cos for some stuff, your deductible is cheaper than submitting the claim & having your rates go up. Someone hit my car in the parking lot at work (drove off, too ... the nerve...I work at a police dept!!!)and I found out that my deductible would've been $400, but I was able to buy the headlight online, and after labor, it wound up costing me just over $200 & no claims to my insurance company. The same thing when a leaf spring fell off a truck in front of me on the highway once. It bounced off the hood of 900S, leaving a huge dent & scratch & almost broke through the windshield. It shattered the passenger side windshield & dented the trim area around it before it hit the highway again & continued to be run over. Anyway, it would've cost me over $400 to replace/repaint the hood, and my deductible was about $400...so, I put on some touch up paint & learned to live with it. My insurance company covered the windshield, but I never reported the hood.
I am a 36 yr. female, my last accident was in 1991 (totalled my 2nd 900S ... both not my fault) I have a '00 9-3 & a '91 900S on my insurance and pay roughly $800/year for insurance.
Ya gotta be careful out there!!! You weren't hurt were, you? Or the woman who collided with you? (I'm doing some transmission work to my 900S to give my 18 yr old ... you're scaring me!! He's already had one fender bender with my father's 900S.....)
Sorry this is so long. If the damage is REAL bad ... maybe you can find good used parts (?)
