Well, you may not be able to avoid it positive pressure when cold, depending on your location, but you don't need to just sit and idle for 5 minutes to get heat in the engine, either. The point is to not call for full power while the oil is still cold and not flowing very well. I consider WARM to be the water gauge needle off the peg and into the gauge "stripe". My former mechanic used to drive through the neighborhood down to the highway, a mile or so downhill, before blasting down the highway at an extra legal pace, to get to his shop in the morning.
