Our story thus far....I have a '00 9-3 Conv. Maybe 1 or 2 times in the first three years that I had it would it start rough, but then it would clear right up. However, in the last couple of months, it lost turbo boost. My mechanic says that the trouble is in the engine management computer, and is currently looking for a used one so I don't have to shell out $700 plus for a new one. This is a car that only has 60K miles on it. The car drives fine, but has limited turbo boost. Evidently, the computer is dumping the boost almost immediately. In the last couple of days I have noticed that the startup in the morning is extremely rough. No backfires yet, but it causes the whole car to shake. I also read a post from TG that said low voltage may be responsible for these problems. My mechanic did tell me that my battery was going bad, but would still hold a charge. I've had all the maintenance done up to now and the ignition cassette was replace around 50K, so it shouldn't be that. I'm going to replace the battery before the current one leaves me stranded somewhere. Hope this helps somewhat. Sorry it's so long.
