Give the techron a chance. Try the 20 ounce bottle, $10US
Battery: If it has removal caps, add distilled water. Have the engine and ignition off. Just for safely, wear glasses to shield eyes. No risks at all most of the time. Don't over fill!!! If the tops of the battery plates are exposed, that is serous. Wear eye protection. Do not remove caps while the engine is running or ignition on. Close doors so that interior lights are off etc. Some batteries need water 2 or 3 times per year, depending on climate.
With a 2001 you should not have to worry about cleaning the TB. And I think that you have a T7, black DI and no IAC to clean.
So you may need new plugs. Suggest BCPR6ES11's gapped to .035".
Injector and plug conditions are critical. All the more so with low volitility summer grade fuels. Watch for others with such problems with the first cool weather when summer fuel is still supplied. Most problems of this nature are this simple.
