Why not get some 15" rims?

We drive our '99 9³ SE in Northern Colorado, so winter conditions are a concern for us as well. I decided to pick up a set of used 15" OE alloys & run even more popular 195/60-15s. The selection is huge, the prices drop substantially (ofsetting the additional cost of the rims), & the narrower profile cuts thru the slush better. This leaves the 16" rims available for better weather & lower-profile 205/50-16s. Those long summer travel trips & 3-day weekend drives along twisty mountain roads are more enjoyable that way.
Even though that's worked well for the past four winters, this year I've decided to switch to "original size" 185/65-15s for still more winter grip. I recently went back to this size (in BFG Traction T/As) on my '90 C900 & was impressed enough to want them on our 9³ also.
