Thinking about buying a Viggen -1st time saab questions

Hi all,
I've been looking at buying a 00 or 01 viggen sedan. I've been lurking a bit. One major concern I have is that I have a few friends that have all had serious reliability maintenance issues with their 93s or 95s. More so with the 93. My question to the Viggen owners is: If you had a lot of problems, have they been worked out to your satisfaction and is the car pretty reliable now? I figure that almost all the cars I am looking at are lease returns. I've thought about looking for a certified at a dealer, but the 01 is already pushing the limits of my budget. I don't mind a little maintenance issue, but not where the car won't run many times. Should the SID problems be resolved on most cars by now? If not how much does work like that cost? (obviously I can't do THAT myself).
Thanks for any input.
