I have just over 30k on my '01 Viggen convertible and absolutely love it!
Torque steer is overstated in my opinion, especially if you have good tires. I just got PZero Nero M & S put on and they made a world of difference over the OEM Pirelli P6000s. Torque is limited in 1st and 2nd and there's traction control on the 2001+ models, which helps too.
Rims can be soft, but I live in an area with TERRIBLE Roads (DC & N. Virginia) and I managed to bend only 1 rim in 3 years. Hit no less than 10-15 potholes HARD too over that time frame.
Love the car - I think it's the ultimate SAAB and it's been holding its value better than the rest due to its relative scarcity.
