I can't say this describes my steering although sometimes my steering feels
loose. I have an inconsistent vibration when on the gas or brake at 60-70
also that I'll have to get checked out soon. Not at all consistent. With 100K on my car soon though, I have not replaced all you have and am thinking I'll start with the struts for sure.
In your situation it certainly sounds like the steering rack but I'm not
sure what can go wrong in it? It is possible that the ball-joints and
front bushings deteriorate at a certain point and leave to this kind of
steering behavior?
I notice on my steering rack that one can move the arms going out of it (tie-rods) up and down and they have some play.
