So I contacted Swedish Automotive here in Greenville, SC about the camber issue with my Saab. The guy I talked to was very friendly and informative, but he was reluctant to let me even bring the car in to get checked out. I told him I had an estimate written up by Fairway Saab, and what their estimate was for.
The synopsis of what the guy said to me was 1. there's not a lot of things that could go wrong back there 2. the symptoms I described seem to suggest a correct diagnosis by the dealership 3. the parts cannot be rebent or fixed, only replaced 4. I should be very careful if I ask the dealership to use parts I've gotten from parts cars -- if this one bent without me hitting anything that I thought was damage inducing, there is a good chance that I could be giving the dealership an already bent part from another car to put in (therefore having to do everything all over again)
My other concern with using used parts is that if something isn't right after the repair, the dealership maybe won't stand behind it because I didn't use their new parts.
Are these concerns unwarranted? I'm going to get a third opinion when I go home for Christmas break from school -- but I need advice guys -- anything you can suggest?
