The Viggens were selling at a 7-10k premium over a loaded SE. It was difficult to find a good quality Viggen for under 25k. Most had been driven hard, autocrossed, or used in the Flight Academy. There were a lot of very clean, low mileage SE's coming in off 2 and 3 year leases. I remember my old 88 SPG scraping on everything due to the low ground clearance and I noticed the front spoilers on all the Viggens were chewed up in the same way. In the end it mathematics won out and for a year now I am enjoying my $13,900 black/gray 2000 Saab 9-3 SE 5 Spd. And my insurance is 50% cheaper than the rate I got for the same year Viggen. It is not a Viggen, doesnt have those wonderful Viggen seats, but life is full of compromises and choices.
