It's easy to tell whether you have a short-belt setup or the older setup. Stand on the right side of the engine bay and look down at the belt. In the short config, the belt goes straight across from the idler pulley on your far left (back of the engine bay) to the p/s pump on your far right (front of the engine bay). It makes a 90-degree turn at each point. In the older config, the belt goes down and around an idler pulley in the middle, before coming back up to the p/s pump. It therefore turns about 135 degrees around the idler and the p/s pump.
