Just to clarify, maybe there's some confusion??
Since about '98 or so, most cars have had transponder 'chips' embedded in their keys. That's NOT the remote-unlock transmitter. I guess it would be like the '99 key that doesn't have the lock/unlock buttons.
The newer Saabs (others too) have the remote-unlock transmitter ALSO built into the key. Those STILL have the transponder chip, also. So there's 2 different things going on here...
