2K SE - Aftermarket Stereo preamp & SWI-X location??

I have a couple of questions after installing my aftermarket Kenwood CD / MP3 player and the PAC (Pacific Accessory Corp) SWI-X Steering Control in my 2000 9-3 SE.
Most of the install went pretty smooth. It took me a while to figure out how to connect to the Steering control wire. Plus, some more difficulty with configuration of the wiring harness I bought from Taliaferro. Either they sent me the wrong harness or my stereo was wired differently. Regardless, I was able to figure it out after comparing the wiring to the OEM Stereo input.
So on to my two questions.
1. Firstly, how to I convert my 2 RCA (?) preamp out cables to use the Saab Preamp cable? I’ve searched this site for clues but obviously, I’m clueless. Is there a converter cable or something difficult I’ll have to make?
2. If you’ve installed the PAC SWI-X, where did you cable the IR cable? I’m its not too long and I’m thinking of wiring it to come out next to the parking brake handle. If you have any other suggestions and instructions on how you wired that IR cable, I’d be very grateful.
Their own suggestions are the dome light but I don’t see how you would wire it all the way up there.
Thanks for you help and patience.
