Do a google search for lemon law, then look up your state's specifics. I don't think it would apply to you. 2 trips to the dealer in 18 months is nothing. I think you just caught this at a bad time. People are on vacation, staffing is low, some companies even close down completely for a week. Anyway, for future reference you should demand a rental car whenever your car is in the shop for warranty work.
I had a 2000 9-3 that melted two pistons at 48k (lucky me) and they had the car for over a month. (New bottom end, plus some electronics that caused the problem). I talked to Saab customer service and they asked why I didn't request a loaner or rental from the Dealer. I said, oops, didn't know. So they sent me a check for one loan payment, or about $500.00. Saab even paid to have the block heater and pad heaters re-installed which isn't officially covered by warranty.
Good luck.
