Don't be so quick to flame dealers .... There is NO system in place today that I am familiar with other than the one Saturn uses that will allow any dealer to review or print service history from another dealer. Now that having been said, any authorized SAAB dealer CAN review and print basic warranty history on any SAAB vehicle, regardless of whether he has ever worked on it or not. Although they are in no way obligated to provide it, there is no restriction that I am aware of that would officially prevent a SAAB dealer from supplying this basic warranty history.

My suggestion would be to make sure the service person understands that you are not asking for the entire service history, just the warranty history that is on file and available through IRIS. You will have to make the calls yourself to the former servicing dealers in order to gather all of the non-warranty service history.

If the dealer is unwilling to provide you with what is called a "chassis history" print out, then perhaps it is time to look for a more cooperative dealer to work with. Since it should take about 45 seconds from start to finish to provide this, it should be no big deal.
