Crankcase breather mod....should it be reversed?

My timing was good enough to have the crankcase breather mod done a week before the "extended warranty" on early 9-3 engines was issued by SAAB.
My question is....I've ran across some posts here that some have experienced oil consumption problems after the mod.... and since this mod was evidently not the answer to the oil sludging problem should I be concerned. I've kept an eye on the oil since and it has been ok...I've been using Mobil 0-40 since I bought the car at 23K miles anyway.
The other thing that irritates me about the mod is that the dealer deemed it necessary after my factory warranty had run out...I'm on a GM extended warranty now until 80K miles but, the GM warranty would not cover the mod. I take it to the dealer for oil changes because I want them documented until the ext. warranty runs out. I asked them about the mod at the last factory covered service and they said I didn't need it...no leaks. Now, just a month out of factory warranty it's necessary?
Anyway....my question is concerning this....is there any factory coverage for the mod since the release of the factory extended warranty for the sludging problem....or does the warranty only cover engines that are sludged and need replacement?
I'm going to call the dealer and discuss, I've always had a good relationship with them over the past 7 years since my first purchase there....but thought I would ask here first.
Thanks in advance!
Todd
