It turns out that the '00 was actually a manual, so I'm out of that one. I prefer manual, but our nanny will be driving it occasionally and I don't want to teach her how and have her driving my kids around. The same dealer said he had a 99 SE that had just come in on trade. It has 84K on the clock and is frost grey - which I prefer to red. He claims (remember he's a dealer) it to be in excellent condition and in better shape than most of the lower mileage cars he has - traded in by a Saab enthusiast, etc. He "paid" $9100 for it and put in $700 - new tires, brakes, etc. He would sell that for $9800. So now my choice is between two 99 SE's - a red one with 60K for $11K or frost grey one with 84K for about 10K. If anyone's aware of a decent automatic convertible, let me know.
