Air Bag Help!?

I could really use an experts help,,

The air bag light on my 1999 9-3 has been on for a while, I have had it to the dealer three times to reset the air bag light and suggest repairs. the common theme has been the resistance in the drivers side air bag in the seat. The most recent time to the dealer to reset the light revealed a resistance of 4.6 ohm in the drivers side air bag system with the required acceptable resistance being 2.0 ohm or less. With this knowledge, I first bypassed the connector under the seat by soldering the wires together instead of going thru the connector. The air bag light continued to stay on for about three weeks of driving.
I then bypassed the drivers side air bag completely by soldering the wires together at the connector under the seat without going thru the side air bag. The check air bag light is still on.
My question is, by bypassing everything from the seat to the air bag, does this mean that my problem is in the computer or the wiring harness between the seat and computer or is the computer smart enough to tell that I bypassed the side air bag?

I have been fighting this problem for many months and any assistance will be appreciated.

For those of you who believe I should just let the dealer fix it, the dealer is stumped and is not sure what to do without replacing everything, the side air bag, and complete harness including the computer for approximately $2800.
