Here's one of those posts linked below. I sorta remember writing one that was more detailed, but ???
The turbocharger is made up of a turbine & a compressor, connected by their shaft. Exhaust goes thru the turbine, which makes power to spin the compressor. The fresh air (from the air cleaner) goes thru the compressor. OK?
Look at your air cleaner housing. There's a short rubber duct near the corner of the valve cover. It leads to an aluminum elbow which points the air downwards into the compressor. On top of that elbow, there's a banjo fitting for a small steel tube. That's the crankcase breather, part of the PCV system. It wasn't changed by the breather modification.
Take off the rubber duct, look inside the aluminum elbow. Look for evidence of oil leaking in thru that banjo fitting. Whatever oil comes in here, will get sucked thru the compressor. Then there's a rubber hose (looks like a radiator hose) going to the intercooler. That hose has a low point where oil can puddle. Occasionally a bunch gets sucked thru & burned by the engine.
If you find oil like I described, it really doesn't rule out a bad turbo bearing also leaking oil. Before my warranty ran out, I told the dealer about the smoke. They said they took off the exhaust pipe & looked into that end of the turbo, saying that it didn't look like oil was leaking into there. Someday I'll probably find an excuse to look at that for myself.
Mine still occasionally smokes, it seems like the breather modification didn't change that. I haven't had it reversed yet, maybe I'll just do that myself. I should try parking up/down hill, but my immediate neighborhood is pretty flat.
