Replace A/C compressor - what other parts needed?

I finally got my AC compressor (ordered in the beginning of July).
I will have an indie shop do it. It looks straight forward enough. However, I also just read through everything here I can find (search: compressor 1548 hits!) Now I think I might need a recharge + receiver dryer + expansion valve + system flushing?!
From what I can tell, my compressor clutch pulley bearings went and seized up. I don't know if the rest of the compressor is damaged. How can I tell? (I took the pulley out already.)
Also, how can I tell if I "sprayed Al chips all through the system"?
Another question is: If the system was working well (cold air), and I replace the compressor quickly, do I still need to: replace the receiver dryer? Expansion valve? recharge the system?
