Hooray! You guys are awesome! After reading your posts, I took it over to a mechanic listed in the Mechanics section (Scania Auto Service, Walnut Creek, CA) and he told me exactly what you said!
It seems the dealer either didn't read the code in the computer or was simply jerking me around. Scania reported that the Gear Selector Switch was the code listed and that he will now replace it along with the fluid! Thank goodness because I don't have $3000 to drop on a transmission.
To answer the other question - I had read that the transmission is the "weak point" in the car on the C900 board before someone pointed me to the NG900 board. So, it seems that info is not accurate for these cars.
I will not be headed back to the dealer any time soon. (Is it wrong to name the places that have provided poor service, or is it a good idea to let other people on this board know)?
Thanks again!
Topher
