Heres my situation. I have a 1995 900S 3dr 5sp with 92.5k miles. Today I was brainstorming the things that need to be done at the 95k mile service. I came up with a rather long list: 4 new steel rims(3 are slightly bent at $51 each from tirerack, new shocks, struts and struts mounts installed by pros for around $800, short belt and wazee pulley $60ish, shifting is feeling funky; new linkage $175 DIY, trans synth oil $50ish, coolant flush, brake fluid, plugs and wires. I have an internal leak in my dist. $140

This so far is about $1600

In the neighborhood of 120k miles I will need a new clutch, rear main and transmission seals $1200, A new fuel pump $300DIY $1000pro, Water pump $175, Alternator $250, tires $400

Total about$2400 with most being DIY, don't know if I could DIY waterpump, fuel pump and alternator.

My car is worth maybe $3000 in this market. It runs well and I have the full service history, but it is far from cosmetically perfect on the exterior. No rust, but dents, scratches and faded paint. I really like my car and I know that with all of this investment it would run for a long time. If I were to sell it, I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Any thoughts or words of wisdom?
