Let me explain what it looks like back in that area of cylinder head.
Right to the side of head bolt number 8 (furthest back to timing chain) is an oil channel that pushes oil up and lubricates all camshaft bearings and valve lifters.
It's about 20-30 Psi pressure on that oil coming through.
The head gasket in your car is a thin sheet metal gasket with an anerobic sealant on both sides that reacts and cure when the air is squeezed out by the torque of head bolts.
It is extremely crucial that ALL grease/oil/residue is removed before placing the headgasket on the engine block and the same cleanliness is put on the head. If not, the anerobic sealant will not bond with head and block and the oil galley is only kept tight by the peer pressure of head bolts.
The problem with the loose head bolts comes down to that the anerobic sealant bond has been breached and oil has been allowed to seep through and out the back of the engine.
That means the sealant is never going to work again the way it was meant from factory and the only first course of action is to change the bolts, torque down the head gasket and hope for the best. If the oil leak is still present and you want it gone, you need to lift the head and clean up everything and put a new head gasket on.
I have started to put an extra dab of Loctite 518 around that sensitive area to make sure it seals around the oil galley.
And to make it extra tricky. In some rare occasions it is not the head gasket that is leaking oil but the split between the aluminum timing cover and engine block.
You can imaging the feeling when you have pulled a cylinder head and installed a new gasket just to still have a leak in that vicinity and having to pull the head again AND the timing cover to seal that one.
