Sorry to hear about your incident Raffi. I had a 2000 9-3 SE before getting my 2002 9-3 Viggen, and I've driven BOTH in puddles (well, small lakes). Here in Miami, flooding is prone from sudden afternoon thunderstorms. Thinking my Saab was the shit, I drove my first 9-3 through very deep water like you and although no water got it, apparently the cooling fan electronics took a crap and my Saab overheated the next drive because the fan wouldn't start up. Not learning from this mistake I did the same when Katrina went through Miami and although the standing water wasn't as high as it was when I drove through with my 2000 9-3, again the cooling fan took a crap and I again overheated the car until the cooling system was replaced. So you may want to check up on your cooling system, make sure the water didn't damage anything. It won't overheat in steady freeway driving, but once you hit stop and go traffic, it may be too late...
Good luck
