My 99 viggen with 75k on it threw a cell last night and now it idles but won't rev. It's a bad feeling when you push the gas pedal and nothing happens. I'm looked up "limp home" mode, but this seems worse, I don't see how you could limp home with the car running like this. It seems to me the computer is deciding not to respond to the throttle. The car was just in the shop for a few days getting a new clutch and slave cylinder, so it's certainly possible something was knocked loose, but I had driven it since I got it back and it seemed to be running great. Als0, I have been noticing a faint fuel smell when I accelerate hard, so I don't know if it's related, maybe a hose to the purge valve?
I'm going to try putting a bullet through the block today, no sorry, I mean swap out the DIC today and look around for cracked hoses or a disconnected wire. Any ideas would help.
