I have both the genuinesaab sway bar and steering rack brace on my '03 9-3SE convertible. I have also added genuinesaab's 6 point sub-frame brace and 17 inch wheels with Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires so it is difficult to advise which change made which improvement. Anyway, my seat of the pants meter thinks the 9-3 now handles better than my '00 9-5 Aero so there is a definite improvement.
The steering rack brace made the most notable improvement. Much improved steering precision and a reduction of the car's tendency to wander. The sway bar also helped with understeer but the car didn't ask to be driven hard enough to really notice the difference until the other improvements had been added.
As to the installation, the sway bar is dead easy to install. I did it in the grass beside a gravel drive when I was on a trip. The rack brace should also be an easy installation however I did encounter problems with mine as the holes in the brace didn't line up with the stud and hole in the fire wall. This required some modification to the brace and a trip to see Anders (Swedecar) for installation. It seems that I'm the only one to have trouble installing this brace by the way and even if you do encounter problems, the improvement in handling is worth the hassle.
