As I understand it, if you come in for the recall with a DIC in a certain serial number range but working, the dealer is to replace the DIC and that is it. 3 months ago however I took my 2000 9-5 Aero (also affected by this recall) in to have a recurring CEL evaluated and came away with a new DIC and new software, which cured the problem. I know not if the new software comes with a failed DIC only or if Saab has changed the minds on how the recall is to be performed since New Years.
