A gap of .035 - .037 provides the best in-gap service life. BPCR6ES11's are best for most folks. Pull the plugs and read them yourself. Carbon? Tracking? Cracks? Damage? Do check the number on the plugs!
One treatment with Techron should eliminate injector fouling issues... but note any cylinder to cylinder diffences in plugs.
Remove DIC connector and check for condition of contacts etc. And parts pushed back inside the plug? Check CPS sensor connector and injector electrical contacts.
Coils are part of the DIC.
Temp indicator goes to 9 o'clock and stays there at highway speed?
Starts ok?
MPGs at highway speed good?
Fuel filter changed with pump?
TB problems or most VAC leaks will not cause a problem of this type on the T5 system. But do check the small VAC lines from TB to MAP and FPR; problems there have severe impact on mixture. The large VAC line from the TB to the evap control solenoid vavle on the RH fender could be cracked or spit and opening up as the engine moves under the torque of acceleration. IAC with problems is out of the picture when throttle is open, so no issue there, ditto for TB fouling.
